Misplaced Faith 3

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

So how can we be born again, born of water and of the Spirit? By receiving Jesus.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Becoming a child of God and becoming born again, born of water and born of the Spirit are different ways to describe what God does when we receive Jesus. So how do we receive Jesus? Into our hearts. What does He do in our hearts? He dwells in our hearts and purifies them.

Only our Creator can live in our hearts and do His work in them. We must believe that He will do HIS SAVING WORK IN US. Faith in anyone or anything else will not save us.

Ephesians 3:17 That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19 And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 20 Now unto him that is ABLE TO DO EXCEEDING ABUNDANGLY ABOVE ALL THAT WE ASK OR THINK, ACCORDING TO THE POWER THAT WORKETH IN US, 21 Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

To be continued.
